C.S. Mott Foundation Visit Community Foundations in Malawi

We are excited to host Neal Hegarty, Vice President of the Mott Foundation, along with Mamotshidisi Mohapi, Program Officer, and Jeremy Marco Maarman from the Initiative for Community Enhancement in South Africa.

The delegation visited two of the Community Foundations we've been supporting: Luso Langa Community Foundation in Salima and Grassroots Action and Support Organization in Dedza.

Reflecting on the visit, Neal shared:

“I am excited to see the work Mudzi Connect is doing in collaboration with Community Foundations in Malawi. What we witnessed today clearly shows that community philanthropy empowers communities to come together and take ownership of development efforts.”

This is encouraging as we continue our work, coaching organizations, to become trusted development hubs within their communities.

World Connect Malawi Board Impressed with Luso Langa Impact Stories

World Connect Malawi, a grantee organization for community-led projects in Malawi has expressed satisfaction with the work being carried out by Luso Langa Community Foundation in rural areas.

The Chairperson of World Connect Malawi, Tamala Chirwa, praised the organization after visiting its headquarters in Chipoka, Salima District.

According to Chirwa, many young people have benefited in various ways through the efforts of Luso Langa Community Foundation.

Among other initiatives, Luso Langa is training different groups in tailoring, poultry farming, and carpentry, including making furniture and doors in Chipoka.

In his remarks, the Executive Director of Luso Langa Community Foundation, Canon Chenjezi, stated that the organization will explore new ways to generate income through its ongoing projects.
